4 Dimensional Hexadecachoron Shader

Animated regular polychora (four-dimensional shape) projected into three dimensional space.

Mesh is static, with all animation happening at the shader level. 4d coordinates are expressed as normal X, Y and Z vertex positions, plus four-dimensional component encoded in UV channel. Rotation and projection happens during shader vertex program, setting 3D output vertex location to projected location given reconstructed 4D coordinates.

Game environment in which hexadecachoron is placed is a transportation hub filled with wormholes through which travelers may walk to other moons and planets. There are various visual elements tying into the theme of bending space in higher dimensions to create wormholes. The center of the hub features a model of the star system through which the player may travel, with animated planets and the hexadecachoron as the heart of the central star.
